Stag
Welcome to Dream Catchers Day Nursery – Stag
Dream Catchers Day Nursery, based at the Stag Roundabout, Herringthorpe was established in 2011 and is proud to deliver high quality childcare, with a Good Ofsted inspection report.
With a ‘home from home’, family orientated ethos, the staff cater for the needs of each individual child, developing them to their full potential and supporting them throughout their critical early years.
Our Staff team all receive up to date training within the childcare sector and hold mandatory training in Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Basic Safeguarding.
At Dream Catchers your child will be based in a room specific to their age, stage and individual needs. Our ‘Daisy’ room caters for our babies from birth up to approximately 18 months of age, our ‘Daffodil’ room caters for our toddlers up to approximately 30 months of age and our ‘Sunflower’ room caters for our preschool children up to them leaving us to transition to full time education.
All rooms are well equipped and children will have access throughout the day to a range of activities and equipment appropriate to their development stage. Activities are planned to meet individual needs according to The Early Years Foundation Stage document, (EYFS).
All children are allocated a Key Person, who’s role it is to ensure that every child has the best start in their educational journey. They will work closely with individual children and families to ensure the best possible outcomes at this most formative time in their lives. At Dream Catchers Nurseries we passionately believe that nurturing children’s personal, social and emotional wellbeing is paramount in ensuring children thrive. We enjoy a language rich environment where children can flourish and fulfill their potential.
All our observations, photographic evidence and tracking is stored on an electronic data system, Emag, which allows us to ensure that children’s progress and development is recorded and monitored to the highest standard. Parents and Carers are also invited to attend regular review meetings with their Key Person to ensure that each child’s achievements are recognised and their progress can be discussed. We pride ourselves on the strong relationships we build with our families and this enables us to build on a child’s natural interests. We encourage curiosity and imagination whilst ensuring our activities are both challenging and fun.
The nursery rooms offer homely, stimulating, fun and inspiring environments that encourage exploration and investigation through play. Our rooms are light and spacious whilst being a calming place where children can develop self-confidence and belief in themselves. We offer a high quality range play and learning experiences as part of the early years foundation stage ensuring that children receive every opportunity to develop as individuals.
Our nursery offers additional experiences through local walks, short bus rides and we even have our own vegetable patch! Milo our nursery rabbit teaches the children to care for animals, the benefits of this include an enhanced feeling of importance, self competence and self-esteem.
We are proud to be an award-winning nursery with runner up prizes and certification for the NDNA Nursery of the Year Award 2016 and NDNA Technology of the Year award 2017.
We ask that you provide nappies/pull-ups and several sets of clothes for your child to change into should the need arise. Coats, hats, gloves and scarfs are provided by the nursery in winter and sun hats and sun cream in summer, but you are welcome to provide your own if you wish.
The nursery is committed to offering children healthy, nutritious and balanced meals and snacks which meet individual needs and requirements and are within the guidelines set by the Local Early Years team.
The meals and snacks we provide are prepared freshly on site by our cook and provide a healthy, balanced diet. We provide fresh milk and children have access to water throughout the day. All babies have a daily diary in which staff record food and fluid intake. Staff also discuss with Parents/Carers what their child has had to eat on a daily basis.
